On what made Adnan hit back at Omar’s posts, he says, “I am sorry to say this but he was looking for it. First, he re-tweeted misleading pictures of empty seats at my concert…Arrey yaar, reham karo. Instead of encouraging endorsing and supporting the endeavour to open up the doors of the Valley for more artistes you are bringing petty politics into such a noble endeavour? Just because you are the opposition ,now you want to play the disruptive card? Initially, I ignored his attempts to belittle our concert in Srinagar. But then when he persisted, I took him on headlong.I’ve never shied away from hitting back when the person at the other end gets nasty for his own selfish interests. It’s sad that we cannot exempt even something so well-intentioned from politics.”

Politician Omar Abdullah retweeted picture of empty chairs.

Adnan cuts down all negative reports about his concert in Sringar, including the one that suggested the security bandobast, to be too stifling for audiences to enjoy the music.

Adnan explains, “Of course the security arrangements were very tight, and full marks to the Mehbooba Mufti government for ensuring our safety. Not that I was apprehensive about the risks but we all know what the situation is in the Valley. Let me tell you ,the security arrangements at the concert were impeccable…but not intrusive or disruptive.”

Adnan’s message to his fellow artists in Mumbai and to Omar Abdullah: “Please see my concert as a new beginning. More of us should go there. And this can only happen if powerful people like Omar Abdullah stop practicing the politics on non inclusiveness just to be on the opposite side of the political fence. Next time I perform in Kashmir, please come for our concert, Omar Saab. As you know, there are so many empty seats for you to occupy.”
