“Charche mein dekho film star hai, woh toh kaandhe pe liye ghume star hai, Hum party kare jo itvaar hai, Woh toh maathe pe seh raha vaar hai,” are the opening lyrics of the song Salaam Haq Se by Fazilpuria. Directed by Baljinder S Mahant and shot within a span of two days in Mumbai, the lyrics, co-written with Rossh, is a tribute to the Indian army by the Haryana based singer.
Dedicating the video to the soldiers, the singer shares that he too have relatives in the army. “Pure desh ko pata hai ki kya ho raha hai. Isko le ke gossip ho rahi hai, Bollywood mein baatein chal rahi hai, koi kuch keh raha hai, par koi kuch kar nahi raha. Maine socha ki artist ke tarah, soldier ke liye kuch banaya jaaye, unko thodi himmat mile. Hum aitvaar party karte hai. Lekin unke sar pe hamesha khauf ghoomta hai. Jo India mein reh ke Indian army ko support nahi kar raha hai yeh unke liye hai. Unki family se pooch ke dekhoo ki kya hua hai (As an artist, I wanted to do something for the soldiers, on whom fear looms always. This is for the people, who live in India but doesn’t support the army. One should ask the family of the soldiers, on what they go through),” says the singer referring to the family of soldiers who lost their lives in the URI attack.
Also lending his thoughts on Pakistani artist working in India, the rapper, says that it’s army that is protecting everyone regardless of their religious background.“Agar woh India mein reh rahe hai, aur kaam kar rahe hai, toh unko bhi protect hamari army ki kar rahi hai (The army protects everyone regardless of their religious background),” he says. Responding to musician Atif Aslam’s show that was cancelled in Gurgaon in the wake of Uri attack, he asserts, “Main yeh nahi kehta tha, ki kisi ka show cancel hoye (I am not in favour of any artists’ show being cancelled).”

Army ne itna kuch kiya hai, phir bhi politicians kehte hai yeh fake hai. Ek baar border pein khade hoke dekho(The army has done so much for the country. One should stand at the border and see what one has to go through).”
Speaking on the scene that features the singer being attacked by a terrorist from behind, but is taken down by a soldier, the rapper says it resonates with the fact that soldiers work tirelessly for us day and night while we lead our normal lives because of them. The video also features celebrities, journalists, politicians. Ask him the idea behind the same, he says, “Jab tak sarhad pein fauj hai, tab tak teri meri mauj hai (As long as the soldiers are protecting us in the border, we are safe and sound).”
Khadi karo apni tashreef ko, desh ke jaavano ko salaam karo haq se, are the concluding lyrics that sees people getting up and saluting the army. “Jab yeh baat youth ko samajh aayegi toh sabko samajh aa jaayegi (If this notion is understood by the youth of our country, then everybody will understand),” he signs off.
