The Sonepat depot bus with 25 people was going from Delhi to Chandigarh when the blast took place. Kurukshetra SP Simardeep Singh said the injured, including the driver and conductor, were admitted to hospitals. He said, “Forensic experts have been called to collect samples. The reason could be ascertained only after the forensic exam.” Deputy superintendent of police Krishan Kumar told HT that in the preliminary investigations, it was found the blast was of low intensity and the explosives were kept in a bag.

The NIA team arrived on the spot at the request of Haryana police. Central agencies were trying to find out if two earlier blasts – one in a train coach and another in a diesel engine – were linked. The state government constituted a four-member SIT to probe the blast. (With inputs from Delhi & PTI)
