JAMSHEDPUR: The death toll in the mines collapse at Turamdih mines of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) on Saturday went up to three after two workers trapped inside were confirmed dead by officials. Earlier, UCIL general foreman Milan Karmakar was pronounced dead after he, along with nine injured workers, was rushed to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) here. “Apart from Milan, deputy safety manager Surya Kant Singh and a contract worker Son Ram Kisku were confirmed dead,” Col Sanjay Srivastava, Jharkhand state disaster management project officer, told HT.
