Buyers in Gardenia Glory housing project in Sector 46 protest, builder ‘flees’

Around 100 homebuyers of Gardenia Glory housing project in Sector 46 on Sunday protested against the builder for delaying the project. Buyers said they gathered around 10.30am outside the Gardenia Glory office in Sector 46 to meet the builder but the builder ran from the office.

Buyers moved the protest to the builder’s Sector 75 office but alleged the builder gave them the slip there too.

“We visited three of Gardenia Glory’s offices — one in Sector 46 and two in Sector 75 — but the builders and the top management executive fled instead of meeting aggrieved buyers. It is strange that the builders have become so insensitive to our issues. We are frustrated now as we do not know what to do to get our issues addressed,” said Deepak Kumar Garg, a homebuyer in Gardenia Glory.

“We had wanted to meet the four promoters and request them to start clearing land dues so that we can get our flats registered. Maintenance services in the housing project are also in a pathetic condition. We demand that the authority takes effective steps against the four of them,” said Manish Kumar, a buyer.

The Noida authority had started a flat-wise registry scheme for such builders.

“The scheme under which a builder can deposit 10% of the total default and execute flat registration is open. If the builder submits an application under this scheme, many buyers can benefit,” said Atal Kumar Rai, additional chief executive officer of the Noida authority.

Buyers in Gardenia Glory project alleged that the four promoters are passing the buck onto each other over clearing the land due and delivering the project.

“We will deposit 10% of the total Rs125 crore land dues to the Noida authority to deliver flats and execute the registration. Buyers should cooperate with us because we have at least provided them a flat. We will address the remaining issues,” said Manoj Rai, director, Aims Max Gardenia Developers Private Limited.
