The authority has been asked to complete the work and clear at least one side of the road for the traffic movement.

The digging on the main carriageway of the road, leading from Fortis to Model Town (NH-24), was underway till late Sunday evening. On being questioned about the time for completing the work, engineers on the spot said that the work was getting delayed as they were unable to locate pipelines they wanted to shift.

“In order to locate a particular pipeline, we had to dig this huge 20 feet deep and 100 metre long trench. We will shift the pipeline and restore the road to a motorable condition soon. However, we cannot give a definite time frame for the same,” an engineer on the spot said.

“I have spoken with the authority, who earlier assured us that the shifting would hardly disturb traffic on Monday. I have been apprised late Sunday that the authority workers were unable to locate the exact pipeline for which they were digging. This will disturb the traffic flow on Monday. I have deployed traffic personnel for reports on every inch of progress so that we can find a way out,” Sanjay Singh, the superintendent of police (SP) traffic, said.

At present, the traffic coming from Delhi on NH-24 moves right near NIB (national institute of biological) to enter Noida, while traffic from Vijay Nagar moves left near Chhijarsi to enter Noida.
