The 38-year-old Palmeiras goalkeeper was one of the three over-23 players included in the Brazil squad. His place was taken by Atletico Mineiro’s Uilson for the 2-0 win on Saturday.

The Brazil Olympic Committee said Prass, who has never played for his country, would take no part in the football tournament.

Brazil, who have never won an Olympic football gold, play in qualifying Group A, starting against South Africa on Thursday and then taking on Iraq and Denmark.
