India had to grind for the four wickets they took on Day 1, but it was a moment of magic from Nitish Kumar Reddy in his first over that saw him dismiss both openers. After that, Joe Root guided the show with 99*, looking for his 37th Test century on Day 2, England being 251/4 overnight.

India displayed an all-round performance on Day 5 of the second Test to level the five-match series at 1-1. India thrashed England by 336 runs to record their first-ever Test win at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
