Cyclone Asani: NDRF teams deployed as heavy rains lash Andaman and Nicobar Islands
In a tweet, the Indian Meteorological Department said, "Depression over southeast of the Bay of Bengal near latitude 10.9°N and longitude 93.2°E, about 200 km north-northeast of Car Nicobar (Nicobar Islands), 100 km south-southeast of Port Blair (Andaman Islands). To intensify into a deep depression in next 12 hours and into a cyclonic storm in next 12 hours."

Cyclone Asani is likely to intensify into a deep depression during the next 24 hours in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the India Meteorological Department said in a tweet. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel have been deployed and are ready at different places with all necessary equipments to carry out search and rescue operations.(PTI)
