Cyclone Mocha: Damages over 230 houses in Mizoram, more thunderstorms likely this week
Cyclone Mocha triggered rainfall in parts of northeast. The Indian Meteorological Department said heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur till Monday.

“After 4 p.m. yesterday, the storm weakened a bit, but the water did not fall back. Most of them sat on the roof and at the high places of their houses the whole night. The wind blew all night,” the rescue group leader said. (AFP)

Tribals and farmers affected by the Ken-Betwa river-linking project stage a symbolic Chita Andolan (pyre protests), Jal Satyagraha and hanging satyagraha by placing nooses around their necks, over their demands of better compensation and rehabilitation, in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh.
