PM Modi pays tribute to Bhil freedom fighter Govind Guru | Pics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajasthan to attend 'Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha' on Tuesday and is expected to declare the 'Mangarh Dham' historical site a national monument. Paying tribute to the victims of the Mangarh massacre, the PM said "Unfortunately, the struggle of the Tribal community was not recognised post-independence." More than 1500 people of the Bhil community were killed by Britishers on November 17 in 1913. PM Modi also paid tribute to social reformer Govind Guru, the leader of the marginalised community and visited his memorial on the Rajasthan-Gujarat border. He is later scheduled to visit Morbi in Gujarat, where over 130 people including at least 40 children died in a cable bridge collapse.
