Canada followed up USA's extraordinary win over Pakistan on Thursday by beating Ireland by 12 runs on Saturday. This meant that an associate team have beaten a Test playing side on two consecutive days at the 2024 T20 World Cup. (PTI)

Canada defended a target of 138 in a stunning bowling performance. Ireland seemed to be on top for much of the Canadian innings after they won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Nassau County Stadium in New York.  (PTI)

Nicholas Kirton and Shreyas Movva then put up 75 runs off 63 balls for the sixth wicket in what turned out to be a match-winning partnership. Kirton missed out on a half-century, scoring 49 in 35 balls and won player of the match for his efforts.  (AP)

Ireland made a late comeback with George Dockrell and Mark Adair putting up 62 off 41 balls between them for the seventh wicket. It came down to Ireland needing 17 to win off the final over. Jeremy Gordon gave just four runs away and took his second wicket in the final over and Canada thus won the match.  (PTI)
