Photos: Unexpected winter storm blankets Greece, kills 13 in Europe

Greece remained blanketed under a layer of unaccustomed snow as stormy weather and freezing temperatures gripped most of the Mediterranean country. Temperatures across Greece hit record lows, reaching minus 23 degrees Celsius in the north of the country. In Europe at least 13 are said to be dead due to weather-related accidents over the last week, most of them from avalanches. The deadly winter storm has blasted Europe, trapping hundreds in their homes in Alpine regions and disrupting transportation services across nations.
