Kirti Shere (25), a resident of Baramati committed suicide by hanging herself in her room in Jalochi region on Thursday. The incident was reported by her father who first found her, said the police.
The girl, who was preparing for competitive examinations including the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), left a suicide note and named seven to eight people in it. Of the names in the note, one is allegedly a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
The woman identified the CRPF personnel in the case as Ganesh Raut, along with seven other names, including two women.
In the suicide note, the woman claims that the people destroyed her life. “All the people mentioned in the note should be punished. Ganesh Raut and Mahadev Nigde should be removed from their government jobs as they can easily fool the country as well. They destroyed my life and threatened me as well. If I spoke about their behaviour with anyone, they threatened to defame me,” she wrote in an elaborate note.
Shere also wrote in the suicide note that four men named Mahadev Nigde, Kiran Nigde, Sachin Kate and Sanjay Nigde harassed her and kept on pestering her to have sexual relations with them for years. She, then, writes that Raut entered her life later but followed the footsteps of the other four people. The men allegedly harassed her on multiple occasions including when she was travelling to and from her college, tuition classes and competitive exam training centre.

{{/usCountry}}She claimed that Raut and her were in a relationship for one and half year. However, he established a relationship with her only to use it against her and blackmail her, she has written in the letter.
She never informed her parents about the harassment in the past two to three years, according to her letter.
“We are investigating the names mentioned in the note and her phone among other things. We need to verify if the mentioned man is from the CRPF,” said assistant police inspector Garde, who is investigating the case.
A case of abetment to suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code was filed at the Baramati city police station.
