Savitribai Phule Pune university introduces bachelors degree course in environment science

Regulated by SPPU, the course will be guided and taught by an expert faculty based in university of Melbourne and IISER.

Savitribai Phule Pune university (SPPU), in collaboration with university of Melbourne (UOM) and Indian institute of science education and research (IISER), will be introducing a bachelors of science (BSc) in environment science course for the academic year 2018-19.

Regulated by SPPU, the course will be guided and taught by an expert faculty based in university of Melbourne and IISER. While the faculty from IISER will be holding classes at the university campus, those by the faculty of UOM will be held online, varsity officials informed.

The three-year BSc course, in the first two years of graduation, will mainly focus on concepts pertaining to core sciences, and will be later upgraded to more specialised components of environmental science in the third year.

Students aspiring to apply for the course need to have completed Class 12 boards in higher secondary certificate (HSC), or other boards in the science steam, with a combination of physics, chemistry and biology (PCB); physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology (PCMB) or physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM), to be eligible for the course.
