Two women killed in separate accidents in a day in PCMC

Mangal Jalinder Suryavanshi, 59, was killed by a truck in Rupinagar, Nigdi and Mangal Mullinath Tupe, 30, was killed by a two-wheeler in Kalewadi.

Two women were killed in two separate accidents in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), on Monday morning.

The truck driver in Nigdi was reversing his vehicle when the rear tyre of the truck knocked down Suryavanshi and ran over her. The 59-year-old widow, who held a job at a local workshop in Rupinagar for the past 10-12 years, was killed on the spot. Her son, Sunil Suryavanshi, filed a case against the driver. Mangal Jalinder Suryavanshi, 59, was killed by a truck in Rupinagar, Nigdi and Mangal Mullinath Tupe, 30, was killed by a two-wheeler in Kalewadi.

The truck driver in Nigdi was reversing his vehicle when the rear tyre of the truck knocked down Suryavanshi and ran over her. The 59-year-old widow, who held a job at a local workshop in Rupinagar for the past 10-12 years, was killed on the spot. Her son, Sunil Suryavanshi, filed a case against the driver.

The police booked the 21-year-old truck driver Yogesh Madhukar Agav from Balgharwasti in Kudalewadi. A case of causing death due to negligence was registered against Agav at Nigdi police station.

An hour after Suryavanshi was hit in Nigdi, a two-wheeler rammed into Mangal Tupe, 30, who was walking along the Kalewadi road. Tupe was crossing the road when the two-wheeler hit her from behind, killing her instantly. The motorbike rider was identified as a 17-year-old who was apprehended by the police for causing death due to negligent driving.

The complaint in the matter was filed by the woman's husband. The juvenile, as well as the truck driver, were granted bail in their respective cases by Monday evening.
