A 30-year-old nurse chopped off the genitals of her alleged molester at Ekta Colony of Kanganwal on late Friday night.
The victim, Amarjit Kumar, 22, a grocery shop owner, is facing a trial for molesting the woman, who he was dating when she accused him of the crime.
Based on a complaint by Amarjit’s father Sudama Mahto, a case was registered by the Sahnewal police under Sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 148 (armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
In his complaint, Mahto said his son Amarjit Kumar had an illicit relation with the accused, who was already married. He claimed their relation turned sour six months back when the accused started pressuring Amarjit for marriage and later implicated him in a molestation case. Amarjit was later bailed out after which he left for his village in Bihar and returned two days back, Mahto said. The police said they had filed a chargesheet in the molestation case against Amarjit.
Mahto told police that on Friday night, the woman called his son to her rented accommodation. “When Amarjit returned home, he was unable to walk properly and was bleeding profusely. He told me that the woman along with her five accomplices overpowered him and administered an injection, following which he lost consciousness. When he woke up, he was shocked to see that his genitals were chopped-off,” said Mahto.

Baljit Singh, who was investigating the case, said the accused and her accomplices were on the run. The police said during a search at the rented accommodation of the accused, police recovered clothes drenched in blood.
