Smog mishap: Hisar man, two sons dead as car falls into canal near Abohar

Father along with his two sons killed into the accident caused due to fog.

Four people, including a Hisar man and his two sons, were killed after their car fell into a minor irrigation canal near Abohar in Punjab’s Fazilka district on Friday morning amid heavy smog caused due to stubble burning.

The victims, Imi Lal along with his two sons Manav and Kalash had come to attend a wedding at Rorianwali village in Abohar when the accident took place due to fog in the area.

The three had left Rorianwali on Friday morning and gave lift to one of their relative, Deepak, at the last moment. Deepak was also killed in the mishap.

As the ill-fated vehicle reached the Abohar bypass, 5km from Abohar town, the car driver reportedly failed to notice the Panjawa minor canal and the vehicle fell into the water body.

The driver sustained injuries. The bodies of the four victims have been recovered.
