Akali worker accuses district Cong president of beating up him, son

A personal dispute led to a fight between district Congress president Mohan Lal Jhumba and his brother with former ward councillor and an Akali worker Shivaji Raj Sharma and his son.Sharma alleged that Jhumba and his brother Sohan Lal Jhumba, along with other Congress workers, entered his house and beat him and his son severely.

A personal dispute led to a fight between district Congress president Mohan Lal Jhumba and his brother with former ward councillor and an Akali worker Shivaji Raj Sharma and his son.Sharma alleged that Jhumba and his brother Sohan Lal Jhumba, along with other Congress workers, entered his house and beat him and his son severely.

Sharma claimed that Congress workers also pelted them with stones and Mohan Lal injured his son with a dagger besides beating him with a stick.

After the incident, both Sharma and his son have been allegedly admitted to the civil hospital here.
On the other hand, Mohan Lal Jhumba termed the allegation a trap against him, saying, "It was just a few minutes' talk with them and we did no beat anyone of them. They just want to damage my reputation by levelling the charge."

The police has been investigating the matter and no case was registered till the filing of the report.
