Apparently upset over alleged 'derogatory' remarks on Hindu deities in a forthcoming Bollywood film, Oh My God, Punjab Pradesh Mahila Congress vice-president, Nimisha Mehta, led a delegation to meet deputy commissioner Priyank Bharti in protest and demanded a ban on the screening of the film.
The film releases this Friday and stars Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. The memorandum pointed out several scenes and dialogues that the delegation claimed could hurt the sanctity of Hindu deities.
"We will not tolerate the mockery made of deities by film makers. It is a cheap publicity stunt. It is shocking that the Censor Board has cleared the film," said Nimisha Mehta.
"A probe is required into the functioning of the Censor Board members and those with dubious credentials should have their membership quashed," demanded Sanjeev Kumar Joni, president Bhagwan Parshu Ram Sena.
Shiv Sena's local president Ankur Bedi, Bajrang Dal president Amit Soni and several other leaders from Hindu organisations were present.
"We will not allow the screening of the film, if the producers fail to remove objectionable contents from the film," said Joni.

"In another scene picturised in a bus, Paresh Rawal and other artists are shown to be drinking a liquor-like substance from a pot. When a female character wants to know the content, "Isme kya hai?" Paresh Rawal is shown to have replied, "Ganagajal hai".
"Another scene shows that the the much revered sacred fire (the holy Jyot) is blown off.
"In another scene picturised on Akshay kumar @ Rajiv Hari Om-Bhatia and Paresh Rawal, it was shown that they are uttering these words (dialogues): Notice no 4 "Main Bhagwaan Hoon."
