While talking to mediapersons here, he said, "It is for the first time in my life when the compensation was given within a few days and the girdawari was conducted fairly. The Congress leaders should look back at what they had paid in the past to farmers".

Dhankar said "We have broken several records in providing compensation. If there are complaints. the farmers can approach us. Though the girdawari cannot be conducted now as there is no crop, but if farmers can file complaints we will look into them".

Asked if the government plans to compensate the families of the farmers who have committed suicide, he said, "Our sentiments are with those families, but suicide is not the way and farmers should not run away by throwing their responsibilities on their children and wives".

Dhankar said the government was also planning to start a system of 'satellite girdawari' in future to make actual assessment of crop damage within few days.
