Ex-PM Manmohan Singh likely to attend Guru Gobind birth anniversary function at Anandpur Sahib

Former Prime minister Manmohan Singh is likely to attend the state-level function to be held at Anandpur Sahib on December 19 in connection with celebrations of the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh. Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and other dignitaries would also attend the function.

Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the function.

Deputy commissioner Gurneet Tej has held a meeting with the heads of various departments at Anandpur Sahib on Tuesday to discuss the arrangements. She directed the heads of the departments not to grant any leave to any official on December 24,which happens to be a Sunday.

She also asked the senior superintendent of police (SSP) to make foolproof security and traffic arrangements for the event. Various committees have been formed for finalising arrangements for the function. The DC also visited the venue of the function.

The Virasat-E-Khalsa museum too will remain open on December 24 and 25 keeping in view the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
