With the arrest of two persons, the local police here on Monday claimed to have solved the murder case of an auto-rickshaw driver who was killed at Bahadurgarh in Haryana on August 18.
The two accused have been identified as Radhe Shyam, a native of Bokaro in Jharkhand and presently residing at Ghanauli village in Ropar district and Akash Taneja, a native of Hisar, presently residing at Humayunpur locality in Sirhind.
Superintendent of Police JS Khaira said during a routine check-up, the police team led by inspector Gurinder Singh Bal had directed the two accused, who were on an auto-rickshaw, to stop. The two failed to produce the documents of the vehicle. "The police became suspicious and arrested the two," said the SSP.
Khaira said during the investigation, the accused revealed that they came in touch with each other at a call centre in Mohali. "Later, they started a food outlet in which they were suffering huge losses. To recover the amount, they had planned to steal vehicles," he added.
The SSP said during investigation the two accused admitted that they had stolen the vehicle from the Bahadurgarh area after murdering its driver Chabila on August 18, 2015. A case in this regard has already been registered in Bahadurgarh police station.

Khaira said a case under Sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC has been registered against the two accused. He said the accused would be produced in the court and further investigation was on.
