Gun house owner Kamaldeep Singh has stated in the first information report (FIR) that he received an alert on his mobile phone of someone was trying to barge into the shop. He claimed that when he alerted the security guard, the latter didn’t find anything.

“When I opened the shop on Monday, five rifles were missing from the shop and the roof was also damaged. I immediately informed the police,” he said.

Police officials have said they have procured the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) footages in which unidentified persons can be seen entering the shop from the roof between 1.30am-2am. The police team and forensic experts along with the dog squad rushed to the spot for an investigation.

‘Gun house flouting norms’

Police officials have claimed the gun house was not following the security measures. They claimed that no security guard was deployed outside the shop and the roof wasn’t also strong.

A case has been registered under Sections 453 (Punishment for lurking house), 380 (Whoever commits theft in any building, tent or vessel), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
