With modern day metro-sexual men not shy of visiting spas and saloons to improve their looks, actor and singer Ayushmann Khurrana has said that the trend was good. In the city to launch a bridal week at Cleopatra Spa and Salon, he said: “It pays to be good looking. Grooming as important for men as women these days.”
Ayushmann, his wife Tahira, and Kunal Roy Kapoor jointly launched the event at the city spa.
Ayushmann and Kunal are playing the lead role in Rohan Sippy directed upcoming movie 'Nautanki Sala'. On their views on men taking time out to do traditionally feminine things like visits to parlours, Ayushmann said, "I am not into visiting salons, but yes they do make you look good. I do go for detoxification treatment and skin rejuvenation.”
Kunal had this to say. “Rather mistakenly, I am wearing a ladies perfume today. However, I am felling good as a result.” He joked and added that he stayed away from parlours, except for the make-up required on-screen.
On whether they are into kicking up a fuss in real life, as in the title of their film, Ayushmann said, "We both are a little fussy (nautanki) in real life too. Eevrybody kicks up a fuss either to get pampered or to feel import.”
He claimed that the flick was a little different from routine genre of Ramesh Sippy. "This movie involves lot of comedy.”
Ayushmann has lent vopice to two songs that he composed in his college days for the film, including 'Sadi Gali aja' and 'Tu hi Tu'.
"I will prefer acting than to singing. Though I love singing, but acting is my priority.”
Directors of the spa Ritu Kolentine and Richa Aggarwal said that the five-day event will unfold a collage of bride and groom makeovers, major styles and beauty forecasts.
"People are invited to have free consultations, nail art, trial make-up, bridal queries, counseling and demonstrations of bridal make-up and hairstyle,” Ritu added.
“The show will be a trend-setter.” The bridal week will conclude with a grand fashion show on Wednesday, April 10, with Pakistani model Veena Malik to walk the ramp.
