The directions came from the division bench comprising chief justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and justice Augustine George Masih on a petition filed by Bus Adda Bachao Sangharsh Samiti, Ferozepur.

The court was informed that rather than entering Ferozepur city bus stand, buses were terminating their hourney at Ferozepur Cantt bus stop. It was informed that initially the bus stand was constructed at Ferozepur city but later when another bus stand was constructed at Ferozepur Cantt, bus conductors started alighting passengers of Ferozepur city bus stop also at Ferozepur Cantt.

The court was informed that there is a distance of three kilometers from Ferozepur Cantt bus stop to Ferozepur city bus stand and the passengers were left with no other option but to hire the autorickshaws to cover the distance.

It was also submitted that despite various representations, Ferozepur deputy commissioner and regional transport authority, and Punjab roadways' general manager were passing the buck to each other.
