SAD MLA from Amritsar (South) Inderbir Bolaria, who was recently removed from the post of chief parliamentary secretary (CPS), on Friday said his innings with the Akali Dal is over and there are no chances of a patch-up in future.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Bolaria, who has been sidelined by the party after he raised a banner of revolt against it to oppose the proposed solid waste management plant in his constituency, said, “I have no regrets on being removed as CPS. I am not resigning from my seat just because I don’t want to force a bypoll on my constituency. But one thing is clear: my innings with the SAD is over and there will be no patch-up in future.”
When asked about the reason for his differences with the SAD, Bolaria said, “The proposed plant is the main reason. I do not want it in my constituency as it would risk the lives of around 50,000 people, but a few party leaders want it in my constituency. I have stood by the people of my area and will continue to do so.”
Claiming that he is keeping his options open, Bolaria said, “I will definitely contest the 2017 assembly election, but can’t say from which party. I am keeping my options open and will take the decision at the right time.”

{{/usCountry}}The SAD leader, who was earlier removed as Youth Akali Dal chief (Majha), accused the Akali Dal of adopting a pick-and-choose policy when it came to development. Bolaria alleged that the party used pressure tactics to demoralise him after he opposed it on the plant issue.
Bolaria, who was once close to revenue minister Bikram Majithia, said he felt free after moving away from Majithia and other senior Akali leaders. When asked about his statement in a TV interview, Bolaria said, “I definitely said that Majithia is not ‘Majhe da jarnail’. He is just ‘Majithe da jarnail’, and this time round, I think he won’t remain even that.”
Bolaria, said, “Many people have been close to Majithia from time to time. I can’t say about the differences but can say that I know him better now.”
