The probe into the car bomb blast case is set to gather pace with the rural police finally getting a two-day custody of the prime accused Jagmohan Singh for the first time.
The accused was produced before the duty magistrate by police that through prosecution claimed before the court that it needed the custody of the accused for a week. Police said it wanted to interrogate Jagmohan know about the module of the entire conspiracy. Further, the prosecution told the court that it is yet to be known from Jagmohan that from where he had brought the explosives and where all he was planning to trigger blasts. Police said two Sirsa-based accused Rattan Singh and Harbhaj Singh are yet to be arrested in the case. Jagmohan is likely to have information about them, cops said.
Defence counsel Mandeep Singh Sachdeva argued that police have deliberately discharged Jagmohan from the Kapurthala Modern Jail despite jail authorities not sending any report of his medical condition.
He said police were violating court orders by not presenting Jagmohan’s medical report as he was not mentally and physically fit to be in police custody.

Meanwhile, in the absence of wheelchair, the prime accused was picked up by cops and produced before the magistrate.
Ajay Kumar, a resident of Moti Nagar, was killed while Jagmohan sustained injuries when a tiffin bomb containing ammonium nitrate accidentally exploded in a Maruti Swift Dzire car at Dugri village, 20 km from the district headquarters, on December 5.
Another accused Hardeep Singh, a resident of Bholath, is already in judicial custody till January 12.The rural police have been waiting for Jagmohan’s remand to get some leads.
