The Jalandhar police honoured Ghas Mandi-based Anju who chased the bike-borne snatchers and caught them on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old girl caught the accused after they snatched a purse from her aunt on the Football Chowk on Monday.
An appreciation certificate was given to the brave girl during a special function organised at the police lines.

Anju was heading towards Adarsh Nagar to drop her aunt Rajinder Kaur, who was pillion riding with her , after her medical examination at the civil hospital. When they reached the Football Chowk, the two accused snatched the purse from her aunt and drove towards Nakodar Chowk side.
The purse contained Rs 1,100, a mobile phone, medicines and others valuable items.
Anju immediately followed the snatchers till Guru Nanak Mission Chowk where the accused rammed into a rickshaw after failing to apply brakes and fell down.
Anju raised an alarm and caught the snatchers on the spot with the help of commuters. Meanwhile, a FIR has been registered against the duo.
