Satish Thaman, who is the member of government-approved committee, said the consumers of the services of BSNL were facing severe inconvenience due to lack of upgradation of the equipments and technology of the telecom company.

He has also short off a letter to the chairman and managing director of BSNL, Anupam K Shrivastava, in which Thaman has raised several key points through which BSNL could improve in comparison of private players.

"Locked buildings, offices, exchanges of villages and small cities that are not of any use should either be given on rent or be sold so that revenue could be generated by BSNL and used for betterment of the services provided to the users," stated the letter.

The letter also brings out that in mega city of Ludhiana there are many areas where services like 4G could be provided on lesser rates as compared to private companies that could also boost the economic prospects of BSNL in Ludhiana.
