The municipal corporation (MC) is in talks with banks to facilitate payment of water supply and sewerage bills.
MC additional commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Thursday said “The project will start from the next year, and then residents will be able to pay their water supply and sewerage bills online on the MC’s website: www.mcludhiana.gov.in in a hassle-free manner.”
Thori said, “The MC collects around Rs 36 crore revenue from water supply and sewerage bills. The online facility to pay these bills will increase the revenue and funds for the development of the city.”
A formal meeting with the banks officials would be held on November 23, where the final written proposals in this regard would be submitted. Thori has also urged other banks to submit their proposals in case they are interested in the project.
