The ongoing controversy over the succession of Satguru Jagjit Singh's "gaddi" thickened further as the members of International Namdhari Sangat (INS), supporters of Thakur Dalip Singh today burnt the effigies of HS Hanspal and Surinder Singh during a protest staged at Vishwakarma Chowk here.

Hanspal is the spokesperson of Namdhari Darbar in Bhaini Sahib while Surinder Singh is the vice-president and both are supporters of Thakur Udai Singh.
INS members alleged that Hanspal and Surinder created rift between members of Satguru Jagjit Singh's family to safeguard their vested interests.
Members of INS raised slogans against the duo terming them as the traitors of the Namdhari sect, alleging them as "politicians, using Namdhari followers for their dirty politics of money and power."
"If Hanspal, Surinder and Jagtar Singh (son- in-law of Satguru Jagjit Singh) do not agree till today evening, to allow Thakur Dalip Singh to come and live in Bhaini Sahib , we will go ahead with our decision to give the gaddi to Thakur Dalip Singh on December 21 in Sirsa," said Navtej Singh, the president of INS.
