PCMSA hold rally in support of demands

In response to a call given by the PCMS Association, doctors from the district wore black badges and organised a protest rally to press for their demands outside the civil surgeon's office on Friday.

In response to a call given by the PCMS Association, doctors from the district wore black badges and organised a protest rally to press for their demands outside the civil surgeon's office on Friday.

They are demanding rollback of new policy under which doctors should have served for six years in place of earlier clause of three years to join a post graduate course. The doctors also sought special increments for all specialists, conveyance allowance to all doctors, dynamic ACP after 20 years of service, separate scales for specialists and administrative posts of senior medical officers and civil surgeons.

The PCMS doctors demanded pay parity with the central government doctors. On the occasion, association district president Gurpreet Singh demanded that all vacant posts of doctors be filled on priority to ensure smooth functioning of health services in the state. The association also served a memorandum on the chief minister through the civil surgeon.
