The joint teams of state counter-intelligence wing and Jharkhand special branch police on Sunday arrested a CPI-Maoist from Basti Bawa Khel locality.
A Platoon commander, Deen Bandh Pater, 28, was living with a fake ID of one Suraj Munda, which he had procured from Jharkhand, and was working as a labourer here since December.
Pater was wanted in six murders, few kidnapping cases among other criminal cases at Jharkhand.
As per details, the Jharkhand police had been camping in the city since the last two days and had raided the house at Basti Bawa Khel with the help of state counter intelligence wing.
Cops told that Pater had joined Maoist movement in 2010 and had killed four people of his native village, Baaruhatu in Ranchi, due to old enmity. The police teams said that he had also kidnapped and later killed two persons in West Singbhum district.
The arrested accused was also part of a number of police encounters since 2010, the cops added.
The officer also said that Pater had been trained by another most-wanted maoist zonal commander, Kundan Pahan, who carries a reward of Rs 5 lakh.
The police said that since his school days, Pater supplied information to the maoists about police movements. He also supplied food and grocery to them.
The officer further claimed that in January 2009, Pater was arrested by Ranchi police for his suspicious activities but was later released in November 2009.

Meanwhile, Pater was produced before chief judicial magistrate Kewal Krishan at his house in the evening and had been sent him to five-day police custody.
