Punjab Police cops caught on cam consuming drugs near Amritsar gurdwara, arrested

In the viral video, two bike riders wearing Nihang dresses, are seen arguing with the cops for consuming drugs in the vicinity of a gurdwara.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Tarlochan Singh and head constable (HC) Gurwinder Singh were arrested for consuming drugs near a gurdwara in Jandiala Guru area, said the police on Monday. The accused were arrested after a video of their act went viral on Sunday.

Tarlochan Singh of Mudhal village and Gurwinder Singh of Mirgabad village, were posted with the Amritsar traffic police (rural) at Jandiala Guru. In the viral video, two bike riders wearing Nihang dresses, are seen arguing with the cops for consuming drugs in the vicinity of a gurdwara.

As per the video, on intervention by the Sikh men, the cops were seen hiding the drugs. The cops also denied using drugs after one of the Sikh man, shooting the video, asked them to show the narcotics. The accused cops fled from the spot after noticing the Sikh men shooting their video. “On basis of the video, we got directions from the higher officials to conduct a test on both cops. The test reports have confirmed that they consumed morphine”, said inspector Harjinder Singh, station house officer (SHO), Jandiala Guru Police station.
