Expressing shock over the SAD’s support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the land bill, Phoolka referred to the recent statements by the SAD leaders for having passed a resolution to oppose the bill in the Lok Sabha. “This U-turn in Parliament points that Akalis wanted to save Majithia at the cost of farmers’ interest,” alleged Phoolka.

Terming land acquisition bill a draconian law against farmers, Phoolka urged people to exert pressure on the Union government so the bill is not passed in the Rajya Sabha. “The SAD has backstabbed the farmers by supporting the bill,” he said.
