Sale of hookahs, entry of heavy commercial vehicles banned in the city

Police commissioner Paramraj Singh Umra Nangal under Section 144 of the Criminal Code of Procedure (CrPC) 1973 (Act No 2 of 1974) has banned sale and use of hookas at public places in all areas falling under the jurisdiction of police commissionerate for a period of two months.

Police commissioner Paramraj Singh Umra Nangal under Section 144 of the Criminal Code of Procedure (CrPC) 1973 (Act No 2 of 1974) has banned sale and use of hookas at public places in all areas falling under the jurisdiction of police commissionerate for a period of two months.

He said, “All illegal hookah bars, which are running at different areas in the city are very harmful for health of humans. Moreover, special checking and steps will be taken for stopping illegal hookah bars running in the city.”

Paramraj Singh Umra Nangal has also banned entry of heavy commercial vehicles into the city (municipal corporation area) from 8am to 10:30pm and entry of medium and light motor vehicles (commercial) from 12 noon to 5pm.

He said, “Loading and unloading of goods is done regularly in the city for which several commercial and light commercial vehicles enter the city during banned time. Due to this, a large number of accidents take place here regularly.”
