The filming was disrupted and some of the locals even threatened to vandalise the set. Getting no security on account of the Lok Sabha election result day, the team completed its task the next day when the police protection was available.

Speaking for the makers, Divya of Magical Dream Productions said they had incurred a loss of Rs 25 lakh because of the interruption.

The film, being directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, stars Soha Ali Khan, Vir Das and Deep Raj Rana. It is based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The unit is in Punjab to shoot some of the scenes. A set of Delhi’s Chandni Chowk has been made at Gungrana, and fans are free to observe the actors from a distance.
