Terming Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal “biggest enemy” of Punjab, deputy chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday slammed him for his U-turn on sharing river water through Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
“Kejriwal’s statement in Majitha on Wednesday that other states also have the right over Punjab’s water is ample proof that the AAP has adopted anti-Punjab stand. It’s the reason why political graph of the party is now waning and this novice party will not be able to open its account in Punjab assembly elections,” said Sukhbir.
He said the AAP and Congress were in a secret pact. “Why the AAP has fielded its best candidates against me and Majithia, and why the weakest candidate against Captain Amarinder Singh? Things are clear that both the AAP and Congress have joined hands against the Akali Dal,” said Sukhbir.
‘CASH CRUNCH HITTING HARD’
The deputy chief minister admitted that demonetisation has hit the common man hard and things would worsen if cash crunch continues. There are a few drawbacks in the implementation of the scheme, he added.
“It’s a brave and welcome step aimed at wiping out black money. But there are certain issues in its implementation, especially the less availability of cash in banks and ATMs. It has started creating problem for people and the Centre should pump in more new currency in the market. I have raised concerns with the Union finance minister,” Sukhbir said.
