Three women thrashed with shoes on suspicion of theft in Haryana

Taking cognisance of a video going viral on social media that shows three women being abused and thrashed with shoes by some men, the Charkhi Dadri police in Haryana have registered a case against unidentified accused.

The police said the incident occurred on August 2 at a crusher in Badhra township of Rohtak district. The victims and accused are yet to be traced.

“The FIR has been registered solely on the video that has gone viral on social media. We are close to tracing the victims and the accused, following which we will take further action,” Badhra SHO Suraj Bhan said.

The incident comes close on the heels of a series of such incidents of vigilante justice in Haryana. Recently, a man was beaten to death on suspicion of cattle theft in Palwal district.
