The Focal Point police arrested the truck driver, Raj Bhandari, and charged him with causing death because of negligence. Victims Hansraj Prasad (35) was from Ranjit Nagar and victim Vajinder from Sherpur. The truck first hit Prasad and his wife, Sharda Devi, near near Spring Dale School in Sherpur and then crashed into cyclist Vajinder.

The injured three were moved to different hospitals, where Prasad and Vajinder died, later. The condition of Sharda Devi is reported to be stable. Assistant sub-inspector Jasbir Singh of the Focal Point police station said the pick-up truck had been impounded.
