Youth killed after hitting motorcycle in stationary pick up

A youth, 18, resident of Burail village, was killed while his accomplice received serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a stationary Mahindra pick-up in Burail on Sunday night.

A youth, 18, resident of Burail village, was killed while his accomplice received serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a stationary Mahindra pick-up in Burail on Sunday night.

The victim has been identified as Parminder Singh, while his accomplice has been identified as Rohit Kumar, 22.

The incident took place around 10:15pm when Parminder along with Rohit rammed their motorcycle (CH01BB1874) into a stationary pick up (CH-03R-6679) parked near Aman Hotel in Burail.

The police said it appeared the victim didn’t see the vehicle and lost his control over his motorcycle.

The police also said Prminder, a Sikh, was not wearing proper turban, while his accomplice was without helmet, leading to multiple injuries.

After the motorcycle rammed into the pick-up, its rear side pierced into Parminder’s stomach, leading to his death on the spot. Meanwhile, Rohit Kumar is undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32.

A case under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code was against Parminder Singh on the statement of Kamaljit Suri of Burail.
