Actor N Santhanam files an anticipatory bail plea in Madras HC
N Santhanam filed a bail application plea in a case against him for allegedly assaulting a city-based builder.
Tamil film actor N Santhanam on Tuesday filed an anticipatory bail application in the Madras high court in connection with a case against him for allegedly assaulting a city-based builder.
According to the actor, he had given money for construction of a building to one Shanmugasundaram. But the latter neither started construction nor returned the money despite repeated reminders, he said.
On October 9, the man invited him for settlement talks. When the talks were going on at the builder’s office, Shanmugasundaram and his associates attacked him and caused injuries to him, the actor alleged.
He said he lodged a complaint with the police against Shanmugasundaram and his associates.
Shanmugasundaram also filed a counter-complaint against the actor and the police registered a case under various IPC sections including 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).
The builder moved the high court contending that he was innocent and that a false and concocted case had been registered against him.
According to Shanmugasundaram’s complaint, he was attacked by Santhanam and threatened with dire consequences.
