Following the stupendous success of Chiranjeevi’s comeback film Khaidi No 150, which earned over Rs 150 crore at the box-office, its director VV Vinayak is said to be teaming up with actor Sai Dharam Tej next. According to reliable source, Vinayak and Tej are joining hands for a project tentatively titled Durga, and it will feature story and screenplay by Akula Shiva. Following the dismal shows of Thikka and Winner, Tej is currently busy shooting for Jawaan, and he has pinned high hopes on the film. He is yet to officially sign on the dotted line for Durga.

Vinayak is known for his wholesome entertainers and he has many blockbusters such as Aadi, Tagore, Adhurs and Naayak to his credit. Tej is hopeful that this collaboration can take him to the next league, provided they deliver a successful film. It has to be seen whether Vinayak can give Tej’s career a much needed boost. The rest of the cast and crew are in the process of being finalised. If everything goes as planned, the project is mostly likely to roll from next month.
Tej, meanwhile, also has two more projects in his kitty. With Jawaan, in which he plays a character who has to choose between his nation and family, due for release in August, he is busy prioritizing other projects such that he can also take out ample time for Durga.
