Baahubali has worked wonders for all who have been part of it, particularly its lead man, Prabhas. No wonder there is so much excitement about his next sci-fi action thriller, Saaho, to be helmed by Telugu writer-director Sujeeth.
Now the latest report is that Bollywood star Katrina Kaif will be seen with him in Saaho.
The makers of Saaho were keen on a Bollywood actor. After initiating talks with Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Amy Jackson, they finally zeroed in on Katrina. The actor, who had hit a low patch post Fitoor, is raring to go again.
Katrina, however, has four big films in her kitty at the moment - Kabir Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan, Jagga Jasoos with Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan’s next with Anand L Rai and Thugs of Hindostan with Bollywood heavyweights Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, according to a report in Filmfare.
Prabhas, who has been a Telugu superstar even before Baahubali, has been catapulted into superstardom thanks to the film’s success. He is currently holidaying in the US and will resume work on Saaho in June.
After playing father and son in SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, Prabhas will be seen in a different role and in a very different setting, put together with a very different recipe: think fast-paced and high-tech action on a huge scale, with a healthy dose of romance, thrills and pinches of drama. As interesting as the title and lead actor is the rest of the intriguing cast, with some big names from all over Indian filmdom. The movie will be filmed at striking locations in, around and outside the country. Music is by the trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics will be written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Needless to say that director of photography Madhie and production designer Sabu Cyril will do a spectacular job with the film.
