Killing Veerappan to hit screens on December 11: RGV

Killing Veerappan, which will mark Ram Gopal Varma’s Kannada debut, will release on December 11, 2015.

Killing Veerappan, maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s Kannada directorial debut, based on the killing of the forest brigand, will release on December 11. Varma also said that problems regarding the movie had been ‘amicably settled’ with Mutthulakshmi, the widow of Veerappan.

Ram Gopal Varma is a maverick Indian filmmaker known for works like Satya, Sarkar, Company and Bhoot. He is making his Kannada directorial debut with Killing Veerappan. (IANS)

“Problems with Mutthulakshmi regarding ‘Killing Veerapan’ have been amicably settled. Film is releasing on 11th December,” Varma tweeted.

Actor Shivarajkumar will play the central role of the officer who kills Veerappan. Sandeep, an aspiring young actor from National School of Drama, was selected to play the role of the sandalwood smuggler.

The crime thriller also features actors Yanga Shetty and Parul Yadav.

Sandeep Bharadwaj, who plays Veerappan the dreaded Sandalwood smuggler in Ram Gopal Varma’s film Killing Veerappan, shares an uncanny resemblance with the bandit.
