Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Indian releases of 2018. The project has been on the floors for nearly two years and so far the makers have only released a making video, the music and a few posters to keep the buzz alive. After missing to hit the screens during Diwali 2017, the makers of the magnum opus assured that the film will release during the Republic Day weekend in 2018, only to disappoint once again. The film has been pushed to April and the makers clarified that the reason behind the postponement of the release twice is the exhaustive VFX work which is taking longer than expected.
Meanwhile, audiences are eagerly looking forward to the film’s teaser which was rumoured to be released on Rajinikanth’s birthday on December 12 last year. Unfortunately, there’s been no update on that front so far. But, on Friday, director Shankar took to twitter to share an update. He wrote: “The teaser work of 2.0 is going in full swing at Mob scene, LA. It involves lot of CG, so once it is done the teaser will be released.” Neither did Shankar announce a date nor did he give us a tentative date for the teaser launch. The industry grapevine is that the teaser will be launched in February in Hyderabad in a grand event by megastar Chiranjeevi.

{{/usCountry}}The film’s audio was launched in a grand manner last month in Dubai. 2.0, a sequel to Enthiran, will mark the return of Rajinikanth as Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti. The film marks the southern debut of Akshay Kumar as the antagonist. Made on a lavish budget of Rs. 450 crore, the film which has music by A.R Rahman, will also be simultaneously released in Hindi and Telugu.
