Chekka Chivantha Vaanam stars Simbu, Arvind Swami, Arjun Vijay and Vijay Sethupathy.

Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is one of the most anticipated films of the year with a fantastic star cast that includes Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Silambarasan, Prakash Raj, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and others. We have just got some great news about the film and its male characters.

Sources reveal that the movie will have Vijay Sethupathi as a cop while Arvind Swami -- who has collaborated with Ratnam earlier as well -- will portray the role of a politician. Arun Vijay, who rose to fame post his portrayal of an antagonist in Yennai Arindhaal, will play a man with grey shades in this film too.

After two films centred on romantic relationships, this film will be a social drama. The roles of the female actors are under wraps as of now. The film will have music composed by AR Rahman, cinematography by Santosh Sivan and editing by Sreekar Prasad.

Recently, it was also confirmed that Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath will be joining the star cast. Ratnam will begin shooting for the film in March.
