Shankar’s 2.o will release in January (around Pongal) and it is about time the makers will now try and build the buzz around the film. It stars two heavyweights of popular cinema in India -- Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar -- who are pitted against each other. Rajinikanth will reprise his role as Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, the robot. Akshay will play the antagonist called Dr Richard.
In keeping with the publicity mode, Akshay tweeted early on Friday revealing that a making of Enthiran 2 video would be out on Saturday. He said: “Get ready to experience what went into the making of @2Point0movie! Part II in 3D out tomorrow at 6pm. #2Point0.”
The first of the making video was shared by Rajinikanth back in August this year. Needless to say, it was self evident why the film has cost approximately Rs 400 crore, thanks to all the green screens, prosthetics, choreographed action sequences, fire, large crowds and gigantic props used.

{{/usCountry}}2.o is likely to release in over 7000 screens globally. Double Oscar winner AR Rahman will compose the music for the film. It will also mark Akshay’s debut in Tamil films.
The film also stars Amy Jackson (who is paired opposite Rajinikanth), Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in important roles. It will hit the screens on January 25, 2018.
