Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya, and her estranged husband, R Ashwin, were granted divorce on Tuesday. A family court in Chennai, headed by Maria Clatta, formalised the separation.
The separation was finalised after both parties stood firm on their respective grounds, the Times of India reported.
The couple got married on September 3, 2010 and have a four year old boy together. Nothing has been revealed about either the custody or visiting rights of the parents on the child, the report added.

{{/usCountry}}Explaining details of the case, lawyers said the couple has been staying separately for the last seven months and that their differences on various issues remain intact.
In September 2016, Soundarya tweeted to inform that her marriage with Ashwin was over. She filed for divorce in December 2016.
On the work front, Soundarya is busy with her film VIP 2, which stars her brother-in-law Dhanush and Bollywood actor Kajol.
